📄 The rules, in plain English

Terms of Service

Short and fair. By using PDFduck you agree to these terms. We've tried to write them so anyone can understand them.

The short version: PDFduck is free for personal and commercial use. Don't abuse the service. We provide it "as is" without warranties. Files are processed in your browser, so we're not liable for what happens to them.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PDFduck website at https://pdfduck.app and the file conversion tools available there (the "Service"). By using PDFduck, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. The Service

PDFduck is a free, browser-based file converter. It converts files such as DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, JPG, PNG, and TXT to PDF format. All conversion happens locally in your web browser using JavaScript libraries. We do not host, store, or process your files on any server.

3. License to use

We grant you a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use PDFduck for personal and commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. This license does not include the right to:

4. Your files and content

You retain all rights to the files you convert with PDFduck. Because files are processed entirely in your browser, we never receive, store, or have access to your content. You are solely responsible for:

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use PDFduck to:

We reserve the right to block IP addresses or take other technical measures against anyone who abuses the Service.

6. Advertising

PDFduck displays advertisements through Google AdSense to keep the Service free. By using the Service, you acknowledge that ads will be displayed. We do not control the specific ads shown — they are selected by Google based on Google's policies and the user's signals. If you encounter an ad that violates Google's policies, you can report it directly to Google.

7. Intellectual property

The PDFduck name, logo, design, code, and content (excluding files you convert) are owned by PDFduck and protected by copyright and trademark law. The Service uses open-source libraries (including Mammoth.js, SheetJS, JSZip, jsPDF, and html2canvas), each governed by its own license.

8. No warranty

PDFduck is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

You use PDFduck at your own risk. Always verify converted PDFs before using them for important purposes.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDFduck and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Because conversion happens in your browser, we are technically incapable of corrupting, losing, or leaking your files. However, you remain responsible for keeping backups of your originals.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PDFduck and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any rights of another party.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for any user who violates these Terms, without notice. You may stop using PDFduck at any time — there is nothing to cancel because there is no account.

12. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may modify or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. We may also revise these Terms periodically. Material changes will be highlighted on the site for at least 30 days, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Istanbul, Türkiye.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
