Before you write
Common questions, answered
Before reaching out, take a look at our homepage FAQ β most common questions are answered there. The most common ones we receive:
- "Why isn't my .doc file converting?" β PDFduck supports modern DOCX only. Open the file in Word or Google Docs and save it as .docx, then try again.
- "My PDF lost some formatting." β Custom fonts and complex layouts may render with minor differences. Use standard fonts (Arial, Calibri, Times New Roman) for best results.
- "Can you add format X?" β Probably! Send us the format and a sample file. We're actively expanding supported types.
- "Is there an API?" β Not yet. PDFduck is built for direct use through the browser. An API would require server-side processing, which conflicts with our privacy-first model.
Bug reports
Found a bug? Help us fix it fast
When reporting a conversion problem, please include:
- The file format you were converting (DOCX, XLSX, etc.) and approximate file size
- Your browser and version (Chrome 124, Firefox 125, Safari 17, etc.)
- Operating system (Windows 11, macOS Sonoma, Ubuntu 22, iOS 17, Android 14)
- What you expected vs. what actually happened
- A screenshot if the issue is visual
Privacy note: Please don't email us your original files. Because PDFduck processes everything locally, we don't need them β and we'd rather you keep your data on your own device. A description of the problem and a screenshot of the output is usually enough.
